No lifeguards you can fish all day you just have to watch out for the crazy people trying to swim in this nasty surf, these waves will knock you on your ass,if you ever get down here be careful.
YO ZIPPY what a great picture I had no problem catching sharks all day as long as something is on the end of my line I am a happy camper, this was my house for the week.
My brother-in-law and his family go every year in Late October for one of the Striper Runs. I went with them in 2005 and stayed in a rental house on stilts that was set up very nice for fisherman. Warm water kept the Striper out deeper and warm water kept the sharks "dogfish" & skates on the lines all day. The striper purist could not understand why I why having a blast catching sharks all day. But I am a fly-fisherman from Colorado and this was my first experience with Surf-Casting and Surf-Fishing and I was in amazement of the point at Hatteras and the Outer-Banks in general. I found it hard to image that catching sharks would get old.
This a pic I took of my Dad and one of my favorite from the trip. We were going for speckle trout at the time...
YO ZIPPY I spent 7 days in a campground right on the beach I did not want to leave we were in Rodante your right it is a little bit of heaven on earth.
