Fishing report 6/20/08

Well, I've been holding off on posting until the new website launches but it seems like every day some little glitch reveals itself that keeps us from going live. We have all of our merchandise ready, we're just waiting for the shopping cart to go online. We have already filmed 3 new episodes of the fishing show and the first one (third installment overall) will be viewable when the site goes live at www.brownietroopfs.com. I have been doing a lot of fishing from boats and from the surf (my favorite) and I would have to rank this up there with one of the best springs I have ever experienced. Striped Bass are being caught by everyone, boat fisherman and surfcasters alike. The bunker showing has been so massive this year that it's commonplace to find acres of bait and no fish on them. Wednesday night Marc and I filmed in Central Jersey (surfcasting) and we landed somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 fish, mostly bruiser bluefish, lots of sharks (smooth dogfish), striped bass, and the usual assortment of junkfish. We have been offshore to Spencer Canyon and hooked up a nice bluefin tuna, some dolphin (mahi-mahi) and some skipjack. No Marlin for us and the one 100 lb. BFT we had threw the hook at the boat after making 3 runs.

I'm supposed to have my cast removed from left leg on Monday and I couldn't be more ready. I hate the fucking thing at this point. It itches, it smells, and it's keeping me from being outdoors at my favorite time of year. I'm praying for good news as I can't imagine doing the next leg of the Ween tour in a chair.
