Melbourne Saturday March 8
One more show tonight at the Golden Plains Festival and our Australian Tour is finished. Melbourne has been a lot of fun, both gigs were a blast and pretty crazy. Played different tunes both nights. The shows have just been getting uglier every night, a very good thing. An overseas tour has been a great thing for the band, everything feels brand new and the crowds have been psyched to hear every song. The gigs have been way over the top, and long. People are just plain nice down here, everything is “no worries mate”. Glenn and I went out fishing on a boat yesterday with a couple of the brownie troopers, foxxy and his girlfriend Amanda. We had a little bit of trouble finding bait as they’re dredging the bay right now which has caused quite a bit of controversy here in Melbourne. Eventually we marked some fish on the fishfinder and then it was game on. Caught a bunch of red snapper, a king George whiting, trevally, and a small salmon. Glenn cooked up his trevally for dinner back at his room. The sun down here is a motherfucker, even with sunscreen on I ended up getting my ass burned off big time. It’s a shame that we live so far away from here, Ween and Australia make a really good match somehow, I can’t explain why. I hope it’s not another 10 years before we get back here. All that aside, I can’t wait for spring back at home this year, it’s been a long winter. When this tour ends I get a two week vacation with my family down in south florida. I’m just gonna fish and golf for two weeks. Damn right. Thanks for all the love Australia.
