Winter Kill!!!!!!!!!!!

well, i've been fishing this tiny lake on my families land since i can remember. this has been a tough winter.......most snow and most cold days for awhile. lately i've been noticing a ton of bubbles rising from the bottom on my vexilar. also, the fish had been suspended at about 10 feet all winter long. latley, they have been moving up closer to the top. i have been marking them at 2 feet down and the bite has slowed down considerably. from what i've been hearing, these are good signs that the… Continue

The Beast of Balsam

i live in a small town in northern MN.....so, lately, the fishing has been through the ice. I have been lucky to fish with a local legend all winter long. His nickname is the Beast of Balsam and he has been fishing the area for roughly 70 years. He is getting to the point where he has a hard time getting out on the ice by himself and drilling the holes.
